NDLEA arrests 4 drug suspects at Seme

Mr Nicholas Ajaduruonye,
Commandant, National Drugs Law Enforcement
Agency (NDLEA), Seme Command, said on
Tuesday that four suspected hard drug dealers
had been arrested by the command.
Ajaduruonye said this in an interview with
reporters in Badagry, Lagos State.
He said that the suspects were arrested at the
border while allegedly trafficking the illegal
drugs from different countries into the country.
“A 46-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman
(names withheld) were arrested on April 11 with
131 blocks of Cannabis Sativa weighing 143.1
kilogrammes.
“Both of them were coming from Togo and were
caught at search ramp at the border.
“Another 34-year-old man was also arrested at
Gbaji on April 4 with one Kilogramme of
amphetamine drug while coming from Mali.
“Also, another man was arrested on April 13 at
Gbaji area of Badagry with one block of
Cannabis Sativa and he was coming from
Ghana.
“All cases are still under investigations and they
will soon be prosecuted in accordance with the
law,“ Ajaduruonye said.
The commandant advised Nigerians to desist
from the sale and usage of hard drugs.
He urged the public to cooperate and establish a
good relationship with the agency in order to fish
out criminals.
“This is the same message we pass across to
the public that they should desist from the sale
and use of hard drugs.
“The economic situation in the country is not an
excuse to deal with the drugs because the law
will always be the law and those who are caught
will have to face the law.
“The public should always cooperate with
security agencies and a good relationship must
be established because we all have to work as a
unit in order to bring criminals to justice, “ he
said.
